I don’t know that people were saying I was endorsing Woody Allen, were they? Because I emphatically do NOT.
I think they were just making a point about Cate Blanchett but again, I was completely unaware that she endorsed him or even that she was in one of his films, I don’t even know what film it was she was in. I pay very little attention to Hollywood and I do not watch Woody Allen films.
As the first person who brought up Woody Allen on that post, I want to be crystal clear: I wasn’t saying anything of the sort.
I was saying that I don’t think Cate Blanchett should be labeled a “real superhero” in a way that relates her to Wonder Woman, when she supports Woody Allen as a “feminist director”.
Is that an allowable opinion, Nurse Chapel? Is it sufficiently not ridiculous?
Holy shit, did she actually call Woody Allen a feminist director?
Not in those exact words but she pretty heavily implied it in her speech where she talked about the need for more female driven movies and how they can succeed, not 5 breaths after thanking Allen for doing her film. Diane Keaton did though if I am not mistaken at the Golden Globes. Yay Hollywood! *Cries forever*
dang it has 50 thousand notes tho so i thought “yo this must be pretty common”
to be honest, I am kind of confused by accused-of-assuage trying to make the fact that I’m a ‘raging feminist’ into some sort of revelation based on my URL
yeah? that’s why I included it!
Well I guess that when I was still a high schooler and I was harassed on the streets with men asking me my age, telling me they “couldn’t wait till I was 18”, rubbing against me on crowded subways even after I moved, touching my butt on empty subways as I was leaving, and masturbating in front of me on the subway when I was 15, that it was all my fault. I didn’t demand their respect so…oops. My bad, my presence as a human being and a woman wasn’t enough for them to respect me, I needed to do something else, it wasn’t like they should work on their shit and not me. Nope. Fuck that. OP you are delusional and full of shit. This is some victim blaming bullshit.
Meet the Villains
Female and here to talk.
I battle with depression, excessive sarcasm, and sometimes caring too much.
Probably slicker than any SJW knows how to be.
Holds the radical…
ha…I thought this was a joke when I first saw it. Nope. Not a joke post, but a real blog. I don’t… I…huh? Why?
No, but seriously you will not be “bullied” by social-justice blogs for your identity. You won’t. They will call you out when you say some stupid harmful shit, and if you double down on it. They don’t have to be nice to assholes, they don’t have to educate people when google exists, they don’t have to make space in their movements for “allies” (although most do in some way). Basically they don’t have to structure their activism in a way that makes you feel comfortable because you have never given a shit about their comfort, well being, or safety in society.
*looks up at your URL* hehehehe oh I think your URL represents you quite well.
Oops, you got me. My URL now makes my statements invalid and I will live my life forever lamenting this exchange. *eye roll*
